Open Day preparation

Do I need to register for Open Day?

We encourage you to register and plan your Macquarie University Open Day in advance to ensure you get the most out of the opportunities available on the day. Everyone who registers for Open Day will go into the draw to win a 13-Inch Macbook Pro laptop computer valued at $1899 (T&Cs apply). By registering, you’ll also receive event reminders; and any updates to information sessions, events and entertainment on the day.

How do I get to Macquarie University?

Macquarie encourages travel by public transport rather than car, as we strive to be sustainable in all that we do. Public transport services to the University extend right across Sydney.

Visit our getting here page for more information.

Can I park for free on Open Day?

Yes. Free parking is available on campus on Open Day in West 3, West 5 and South 2 carparks. Signage will assist you in locating these carparks. The carparks can be accessed via Epping Road, Culloden Road and Herring Road.

Is the University accessible if I have special needs?

Macquarie is an inclusive community and we welcome, value and support people with disability. If you have a disability or health condition, and require additional support or accessibility provisions, contact the Disability Service on 9850 7497 or via campuswellbeing@mq.edu.au.

You can also visit the Campus Wellbeing stall in front of 18 Wally’s Walk for access to:

  • Auslan interpreters between 10.30am and 3pm
  • copies of the Open Day guide in braille and large format print.

View our campus accessibility map to locate carparks and access locations.

Should I plan my day in advance?

Most of our lectures run back to back, so time to move between lectures is limited. Plan in advance using the planning tool on our website and use the map to locate your way around our campus.

Do I need to register for lectures and tours?

We encourage you to use the planning tool and register for lectures and tours that you’re interested in attending. By planning your day in advance, you’ll more easily find the buildings where the lectures and tours are taking place and you’ll be better able to judge the distance between buildings. Note: We’re unable to guarantee seats at all lectures.

If I have people accompanying me on Open Day, do I need to register them for lectures and tours as well?

There is no need to register additional guests, but please note that we’re unable to guarantee seats at all lectures.
