Physics and astronomy: Lecture

Did you know that Macquarie is home to the Australian Astronomical Observatory? And that our researchers have developed new ultra-pure diamonds to combine multiple laser beams into a superlaser reminiscent of the Star Wars Death Star sci-fi laser? Or that researchers at Macquarie can manipulate light to search for early signs of motor neurone disease? By studying physics, astronomy and astrophysics, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from world-leading scientists in observational and cultural astronomy, astrophotonics, astrophysics, lasers and quantum science. In this lecture, you’ll learn about our range of undergraduate specialisations in physics and astronomy, and about the career opportunities available to graduates in these fields.
